Video 1 - Selmo Studio Applications

Learn all about the main features and functions of Selmo Studio. The structure of projects, the different layers and features are explained. This video will help you get started and find your way around Selmo Studio.

The main functions show the start page with the various views and the menu bar. The Project Explorer is divided into Plant, which defines the entire plant to be automated, Hardware Zone (HWZ), which shows the safety area of the plant, and Sequence, which is the lowest level in the project structure and contains the individual process steps. The structure of a Selmo project always follows a fixed order. Furthermore, the different layers, such as Logic Layer, System Layer and Assembly Layer, are shown and explained. The logic layer is used to graphically model the steps of the process. In the logic layer, the relationships between the steps are described by logical elements. The system layer is responsible for processing and controlling the process signals. The system layer describes the state that the machine must have in order to proceed to the next step. The assembly layer contains function blocks or components that developers can use to create software applications.

The features layer explains MXIC, CMZ, HMI, the parameters and the code generator.

MXIC - Manual Cross Interlock Check, prevents faulty conditions in manual operation.

CMZ - Constantly Monitored Zone, is constantly monitored by sensors or other monitoring mechanisms.

Parameters - The parameter layer is used to define the input and output data points. The code generator generates the error-free PLC code and the HMI from the model data in the background.

The HMI - Human-machine interface - is an operator interface that connects the machine, system or process.

This video is very important to help you get started with Selmo Studio and give you a complete overview. After watching this video, you will find it easier to navigate Selmo Studio and get the most out of its features.
